Future Scenario - Lets imagine you're the first on the scene of a 2 car head on crash where smoke & flames are present from the leaking fuel from car 1 - Both drivers appear unresponsive.
You go to the 1st cars drivers door - it remains locked, so you pick up a nearby rock, smash the side window, reach in & pull the door opener - release the seat belt & pull the occupant to safety.
You quickly go to the 2nd car -Jeez, its got No door handles!
Where's my rock - The faithful rock just keeps bouncing off the glass like its bulletproof or something!
Both cars explode - The End
?
Sounds like a great scene from an Tesla-bashing cheap thriller. But I thought the doors automatically unlock in a crash.

The two men in the Texas crash had to circumvent several safety measures in order for the car to continue driving without someone in the driver's seat:
Glad that y posted this, just saw the same video on Tom Nash’s channel.

Not always, what's that famous quote ........ "Shit Happens"
And is anything slightly negative mentioned about Tesla now labelled "Tesla Bashing" ?

"Two dead in Tesla crash in Texas that was believed to be driverless".

Took the Fire Department about/over 4 hours to put the fire out!

WAY WAY WAY too long to put a car, any vehicle fire out!

Roasted alive?

Why Elon?????
This seems like a classic case of human stupidity. I wouldn't be surprised if Tik Tok was involved.

There is a cable that needed to be double cut if accessible. The frunk looked like a mess and if fully engaged, not possible to perform... Other options? Page 13...

Many questions need to be asked and answered about this one...

Where is the driver? The 2 guys that died one was 59 year old doctor the other 69 year old engineer. This wasn't a tik tok video and what 60 year old climbs into the back seat. And it's not like he was thrown into the back seat... the video of the car shows the front seats in the upright position. Someone was driving.

There have definitely been accidents where people end up in a different position in the passenger compartment due to being thrown around in the accident. I am aware of instances where people end up completely out of their seat even when they were seatbelted. We may never know exactly what happened.

Maybe your alien theory was correct after all.

On a serious note, it is very common for a driver to flee the scene of an accident, especially if there is impairment or shock. Or foul play. It would be interesting to know more about the circumstances.

I was surprised they were able to get data from that smoldering hunk of junk. Now we need Elon to admit that he’s watching us all in real-time

Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.

Two thoughts come to mind after reading this thread:
(1) You can never idiot proof anything due to Mother Nature's inherent ability to periodically upgrade the common idiot.
(2) Artificial Intelligence will never be a match for human stupidity.
