It’s now in the S, X and new Roadster, so it’s quite possible it will have it.

Considering the prototype had it, I would assume so.

Hmmm..... Looks nice. But without the top of the full wheel it will keep drivers from doing the 1 finger wave to oncoming drivers. I guess this will be part of the culture shift that will happen as we move to FSD where there won't even be a driver to wave at all.

My only issue with the yoke type steering wheel is when I am backing up, especially with a boat or trailer, where I need to turn my head and cannot have my hand on the bottom of the wheel. But if we have good monitors in the car maybe that won't be necessary.

I'm chuckling at this because when I back up with a trailer I have to have my hands on the bottom of the wheel so that I can use the old move your hand in the direction you want the trailer to go mantra.

Other that that what do people think? I think it looks pretty cool.

I am hoping Cybertruck gets this yoke.
For all you wonks who pay attention to such matters, your remarks on the legality of this. Why is this version okay but the prototype was verboten?

Prototype had open yokes, this one is a continuous shape, even if not a round shape.

Really? Looks almost identical

I was going by memory. What you show does look the same.

I could have sworn the videos of the test drives had open yokes. Oh, well... sorry.

Because the one they did test drives in had a more significant concave and didn't have the slight rounded out top. It really was more extreme.

I found a image of the prototype... it has a gap on the bottom, the new one shows is form/joined to the bottom part.

Thank you for finding that, Henry. Maybe my mind isn't totally gone. :D

The top of it is still very similar (or the same), though.

I don't see a gap. And strangely I think the bottom is more similar than the top to the one shown in model s. Are you talking about the rim not being attached to the hub via a spoke at the bottom? I thought you meant a gap in the rim.
