I'm also wondering why we wouldn't have already seen comments from @CyberGus possibly having tried it or using it on his Delorean before now though.

Maintaining the DeLorean's stainless is the very least of my troubles with that car, lol. I've tried various polishes/coatings over the years but none were worth the trouble.

That said, there may be coatings that could improve the overall appearance and ease cleaning, I've just never found it necessary.

Meguiar's polish costs $20 for an 8-ounce bottle. That's right around $300/gallon.

If you need 10 gallons to coat the CT, then it's pricey, but 1 gallon will probably suffice. I guess the value depends on the required frequency of re-application.

yeah I mean people are talking about BKF like it’s free and you only need a dollop to cover an entire truck, once every 10 years

Someone mentioned earlier pricing vinyl wrap installed at $8-10k where tesla charges $6k. There is i believe an up charge on just about everything cybertruck related at tesla at the moment however i think anyone trying to recoup the R&D costs with a new product try’s to recoup it on the front end. Other parts and services are probably in line with industry standards on teslas other product lines. The price you pay for nearly any OEM product thru a dealership is exorbitant in my experience which is why non-OEM products are able to exist.

regardless Tesla is going to offer a coating like the one branded by OP. Tesla calls it a ceramic, but ??‍

I suspect Teslas will be a more than a smidge over $300

though end of the day, folks squawking that a product that might work well is $300 seems a bit surprising, if only given what Tesla is charging for its accessories (or bottle openers)

I'm picking up my truck on Friday in OC and willing to try this if you want to make a quick trip down here. Your advertising budget could cover the cost of a daytrip to SoCal and if it works without changing the appearance of the truck, you'll sell literal tons of these stuff in the next few years.

Also, do you have any solutions for the black plastic parts and the bed cover to keep them clean and protected from discoloration?

Do you have a source for this? I remember one time reading that tesla was going to make some kind of cleaning/care product, but not that it was going to necessarily be a ceramic coat that actually works (vs the existing products that don't seem to like the porous surface of the stainless). I did a quick google search just now and can't turn up any results.

I will be taking delivery of my Cyber sometime this month hopefully. I live in Alabama where the humidity and heat in the spring and summer is pretty epic. I'm very interested in your CyberTruck Kit for purchase. I would like to see a "before & after" application video. Take that guy up on his offer who is getting his truck this week and document it. If I like what I see I'll order my "CyberClear Kit" pronto!

Application Q -

When applying to the steel with whatever applicator you supply, what happens to nearby painted, plastic, rubber, glass etc parts when they accidentally get the product applied to them?

Not sure if using xylene, a pretty harsh solvent, on any of these “over-applied” parts is a good idea either.

Speaking of moving on if this does not "work" to people's satisfaction. What is the removal process like.
Say someone uses this, and does not like the result, what is the process of getting the steel back to "factory" or prior to using this coating?

The removal of ProtectaClear is simple and will not change the original finish at all. It can be stripped with Xylene or Xylene substitute (for those of us in California). We will be doing application videos this or next week and will include removal of the coating as well. I will be sure to post the videos in a separate thread on this forum so they are easy to find.
