If Putin starts assassinating westerners, NATO will be forced to respond. This would be bad for everyone.

NATO did not significantly respond when Russia/Putin killed people who were on NATO covered territory like UK and France. Even native born U.S. citizens have been killed for investigating Russia/Putin.

NATO's response did not change Russia/Putin behavior.

How is NATO forced?

NATO & world is cowed by Russia/Putin nuclear weapons.

Elon Musk's Tesla EVs, Tesla batteries, accelerating transition to sustainable energy, SpaceX launches are much larger threat to Russia/Putin than StarLinks in Ukraine.
Elon has probable been a target of Russia/Putin even before the current Ukraine invasion.

You have to be pretty far gone to just kill off people that oppose you. That's some next level evil right there. It would seem like the world should come together and take that guy out of the powerful seat he is in.

I wouldn't underestimate the effect of losing EM will have to companies and even to countries.

There is a massive difference between skilled and competent employees and visionary leaders with a never give up attitude. I'd expect a minimum 50% company wide crash and a overall stock market dip.

As for NATO or USA doing anything, that will purely depend on if they can continue to afford to excuse everything, because they don't want to do anything about it. They're still desperately trying not to get engaged, and making heaps of money through new fossil deals etc, all whilst modulating the narrative. War is another fear machine that makes money. You just need to be on side that is on the take.

In general, and I've mentioned this a few times before, I think EM is wearing out and I think his health is also diminishing from his appearance, language and mannerisms. Theres a couple of clips where he's at the Air force academy that show this "heavy" countenance when he thinks no-one is looking. Even his comments around death being a "relief" should indicate clearly enough that there are many things going on, not just business but also personally. I think we all seriously underestimate the pressure he is under from various actors, both in and out of the country. I do not envy him. Lets hope he gets through it and has a story to tell on the other side.

Elon definitely needs a guru, someone to assure his well-being and health. I would happily volunteer, except my own health and well-being indicate I am not qualified.

I hear they are hiring for Food Tasters. Apparently they are worried about turnover so they are hiring a bunch.

I've long thought Elon needs to focus on his health. He can hire the best chefs, nutritionists, trainers etc. He should be maintaining his body in optimal health as it will support his mind. Hopefully he realizes this at some point and makes a change. He can do meetings on a treadmill, stop eating crap, learn meditation (twice a day for 20 mins is my practice, he can spare that) and so on.

Yes Tesla will survive, but Elon has much work yet to do and few can do it.

Musk does look a bit healthier lately. For a while there he was starting to get a little chunky.

EM has a pretty big target on his back both from Russia and domestically from elites that see his Twitter buyout as a threat to their own power. Either faction could take him out and frame the other.

If he dies, a big chunk of optimism for the future also dies.

Musk is the richest man in the world. He’s had a target on his back for 5+ years.

Tesla, SpaceX, and Musk himself all take his security very seriously. This isn’t at all new.

I kind of wonder if his “Couch hopping at friend’s houses” isn’t part of his security plan. Nobody outside Musk’s inside circle seems to know where he sleeps most of the time.

Musk was joking about it now because of some harsh statements Rozcozin (or whatever) but I sincerely doubt he’s more worried now than he was a couple months ago when he agreed to support Ukraine in the first place.

There are many "stress" induced health implications, and you can also be "willingly stressed", in that you desperately want to find a solution for something because of a decision you made. Being highly motivated, or compulsively so, can often hide serious undercurrents as you play problem wack-a-mole.

To that I say; all problems only exist in the minds of men. Sometimes changing your mind is the only solution. :)

Agreed. The world won't end, but I'll be that much less optimistic.

We need him to deliver on the promise of Tesla and SpaceX. I'd like to see sustainable energy take hold in my lifetime, ideally distributed, highly redundant like home solar and ubiquitous EVs, common place space travel in the solar system (well, somewhat) and humanoid robots, to name a few. I suspect much of this won't happen in the same timeframe if not for Musk. I often wish he'd keep a lower profile on some things...

Let's hope his personal security is world class.

I think his couch hopping at friends might rather be a security risk in that his detail has to then make sure all these locations and people and staff aren't compromised. Its also not good to not have a place you feel "at home" and secure, by being constantly "in flight". His private jet might be his home.

I can imagine that having a somewhat random and classified schedule makes it hard to hit a moving target, but also means you have multiple points of unverified contact that you are exposed too.

This just further demonstrates how vulnerable his situation is, and I'm thinking there's a whole invisible backend, probably even a state funded one for national security reasons, that is trying to keep the ever evolving situation under control. To the point that even big investors might make a point of securing their investment with personell. Whats a few hundred grand a year to hire some professional security if you have a billion or two in stock?

How do you go about managing all these interests?
