The lead-time on orders of STM32 microcontrollers is around 2 years at the moment.

That's fucked up, y'all.

These little chips make so many products work better (or work at all).

Hopefully STMicro will fill the backlog more quickly than promised.
Yep MCU's are no longer optional to keep the economy going.

I really don't get how nobody has been de-sensitizing the wafer market and making sure manufacturing is more distributed. Things will shut down pretty quick without them.

I have a buy order @ $575 for 55 shares. I know it is risky to buy as a big chunk when the market is crashing, but I will take this risk. I believe that when tesla starts delivering CT (hopefully next year) price will get back to $1000-$1200 level. I am ready to wait a year or so to get x2 and pay my CT with this money.
Hope I am lucky to buy at $575

Decentralizing manufacturing is not profitable, and the economic incentives are to maximize profits.

I'd love to own an electronics factory and my town would be well situated to host one (educated workforce, good highway connectivity), but I haven't yet found investors and customers who want lower profits and higher prices than they can get in Shenzhen.

Lots of people talk about resiliency and like to say patriotic things about onshoring manufacturing. But nothing changes until businesses are willing to be less competitive to gain that resiliency.

I will personally fix this problem if anyone wants to lend me a few million dollars for a few years with low returns!

Stock is on sale, probably a good time to buy. I did a stop limit order for any $10 rise in a short period.

I am surprised that the stock price is in the $600s, but my comment was not about whether Tesla would 'ever' reach $600 but whether it would reach it that day, or even that week, which it didn't.

I think it's safe to go out on limb and say, yes TSLA will cross the $600 dollar line.

All the eggs in Taiwan's basket is not a good long term situation. With China looking across the 100 miles and thinking they need to make a move makes the world grind to a halt when everything from your dishwasher to the jumbo jet and stinger missiles need those chips. The US is behind on the power curve and will take about 6 years to approach the current chip production quality.

Factories are under way now. Biden is pushing for US manufactured PPE and other things that China is the single source for.

I'm glad it's gone. Unless you're day trading, no good can come of constantly seeing your positions. If it comes back, I'll use my ad blocker to hide it.

Was hoping for 600 but buckled and bought some at 650. With this market it might go back down to 600 again, in turn I’ll buy again….. but low on cash now lol!

I think it is because the stock was delisted from the index.
