Tesla doesn’t let you buyout the vehicle at the end of the lease. Last I knew anyway, they store them for their taxi fleet. Could be wrong, be sure to read those terms and conditions be sure that’s an option. But you’re absolutely right why would you need to purchase a car when you can hail one in less then 10mins and the cost is dirt cheap. I believe 10 cents a mile was said durring & this was all part of the master plan. I imagine a day when Tesla no longer sells cars to the public and just dumps out their own taxi fleet.
Best of luck to you or others in this tho.

Yeah, very true. Absolutely they are a lot of assumptions as there is no one model we can follow. Will California allow full autonomous vehicles to be driving all around their state? There are so many regulations here that make simple issues that can be resolved, impossible!
Leasing for a taxi/rental service seems like a bad investment. You will have mileage caps, damage, etc. to worry about. Looks like .25 cents per mile over overage. Also, the CT is a large expensive (less efficient) EV to try to leverage for profit.

If the lease cannot be purchased in the future , but you must pay a $.10 a mile over it would still be profitable but a purchase might make more sense. In the calculations are based on a $.50 per mile, but a CT would be considered luxury vehicle and would get more than a regular Prius stile cab. At $2 a mile you would get Business all day long right now. Also by targeting clients who are willing to pay more money for being driven around in a bulletproof car vs a death trap. You can definitely command a higher premium as they are not as price sensitive. If you’re an executive and the company is flipping the bill, Wouldn’t you want to be in a cyber truck versus Prius? It’s like the first class seat in airplane, not everybody wants to pay that much, Everybody in economy class says I can’t believe they paid that much and I would never do that , yet they still fill up the seats in first class.

A lot "ifs".

Come back in a few years and we can see where those land. Even if you can add it to the RT fleet, you may not be able to dictate pricing.

Now if you can get $1 a mile, the first year you could easily pay off the 20 trucks in one year and now you have a paid for cyber fleet. Not everyone is just looking for the cheapest or lowest priced ride. People who make the money want to spend it on the finer things in life. I learned long ago, not to target the lowest price customer , but to provide higher quality service at a price that will keep you away from the people who want to nickel and dime you death that will complain about anything to get it for a few bucks less than what they paid for it originally.
