I really like the classic look and 3 wheel electric motor setup of the nobe. I’d have to see it in person and probably take a test drive before ordering one though. But I do love the three wheel design commuter vehicle setup.

Before CT I was hoping that Aptera would finally get their vehicle out.

Looking them up now it seems they are trying to improve their system even more before release. Possibly a never ending cycle. Tough the new never charge solar car does seem somewhat appealing.

I can't help myself, this thing is cute and iconic. What a great era of reimagining vehicles we are in now. Not giving up my CT, but I can see the appeal of this type of design.

Alas, I don't see how it could meet modern impact standards with those thin A-pillers. Even the Arcimoto is beefier.
As you know, but other enthusiasts might not, this thing is legally a motorcycle.

As such, it's probably about as safe as a motorcycle.

Looks like fun!

Motorcycles are fun, despite the safety-tradeoff.

I don't know how two people are supposed to fit in that. The man and woman shown in it on their website are shoulder to shoulder.
That's the same way two people fit in a Cessna 150, and most small planes.

It's not uncomfortable -- it's just atypical in American culture to that close to someone outside of your family.

You just have to manage expectations before you go, and pick passengers who are pleasant company.

It's NBD for me, but I see how it could be an issue for other people.

Another EV is a beautiful car, but will be much more stable and reliable on the road than the three-wheeler Reliant Robin which I managed to drive in England adrenaline is off the charts if anyone there will be cheap. https://www.greatbritishcarjourney.com/ But the red color Another EV fire seems to be cute and more suitable for women. I would love to ride in it, just think how many people will be wrapping their heads around it and taking pictures. Nowadays strange and unusual cars are in fashion and it piques interest. Such a car is nice to show at exhibitions!

Yeah, no kidding. Just ask Clarkson. One of the funniest bits on old Top Gear.

Got to admit I’ve done that myself, luckily it was just down the road from my first house, neighbours came out to see what was happening, I was still sitting in the car which was on it’s side and they kindly pushed me back upright, only damage was I bent the front suspension, used on my motorcycle license and brilliant of fuel with 70mpg.

Small cars look attractive until you become a hood ornament on a Peterbuilt.
You get in a tractor trailer's blind spot in that thing you could end up road kill.
I drove commercially for a lot of years and small cars that liked to hang out next to my tandems were the bane of my existence.
In over a million miles of driving commercially (and prob many more in my POV) I never had a chargeable accident. But it was not from the lack of trying by all the prospective Darwin Award winners out there on the public highways.

Yes, you shouldn't kill other road-users. No, a larger vehicle doesn't equate to fewer deaths.

This is cool.

Is is not necessarily as dangerous as a motorcycle. In fact it’s almost certainly not as dangerous as a motorcycle.

I’d love to have one if the price was right. Trying to talk my wife into an Arcimoto because they are local, but she isn’t interested.

If I have to start commuting to work again I might get one anyhow.

How much do these cost?

The reservation page says “$4,000“ at the top. But at the bottom it says “$4000 refundable reservation fee” which suggests that’s just the fee to put one on hold.

I mean… if it’s really $4,000 And will be street legal, that’s awesome. But seems unlikely. I can’t see plopping $4k on a car without knowing what the final cost will be.

Not sure what the US price will be but here is a price in Euro:

Cool electric cars - Nobe Cars (mynobe.com)

Nobe 100
Range: 210 km
Top speed: 110 km/h
Max Power: 54 kw
Hard Top
Price:
37 000 € exw. Tallinn, vat incl.
Booking fee: 3700 €

Nobe 100 GT
Range: 260 km
Top speed: 130 km/h
Max Power: 72kw
Removable, Cabrio top
Price:
47 000 € exw. Tallinn, vat incl.
Booking fee: 4700 €

Based on the "Booking Fee" here being about 10% of the final price, one might be able to estimate what the US price might be.

Edit:
Actually, I did find a US price on the About page. Go about 3/4 of the way down. Look for "Price".

Price
Nobe 100GT = $25,000 USD (above)
So actually cheaper than the 10% estimate from above.

So likely about the price of the base Model 3 In USD. Not terrible IMO, you’d certainly get some attention in that thing. Have to get the tape measure out to see if it fits in the back of the Cybertruck.

@FutureBoy Thanks for the update.

$25k is actually quite tempting. Now I just have to get over the deposit amount and talk my wife into it. Oh… and figure out if it WILL fit in the back of the Cybertruck!

OK, so based on the price research I've done it looks like the Nobe 100 GT will be $25k and possibly the Nobe 100 GT Signature series will be about $40k.

So what do we get for that extra $15k? Well first of all, probably nothing because there is a limit of 100 to the signature series. So it's possible that they are already ordered and no longer available.

They can both still be added to the shopping cart though so who knows.

Anyway, what do you get?

Nobe 100GT
$2,500
Features*:
  • Air conditioning
  • Star-gazing, fold-down seats
  • Coupe or Convertible
Range: 160 miles
Top speed: 90 mph
Max Power: 72kw
Battery: 25kwh
Panoramic sunroof
Nobe 100GT Signature Series
$4,000
Features*:
  • Air conditioning
  • Star-gazing, fold-down seats
  • Coupe or Convertible
  • Limited to 100 cars
  • Dedicated series number engraved on a special Limited Edition plate that is on the frame of the car.
  • Number is also engraved on the lower part of the rear window.
  • Limited Edition owners are entitled to the Premium Service Package
  • Exceptional BSM sound system.
  • Beautifully engineered in-door umbrella
Range: 160 miles
Top speed: 90 mph
Max Power: 72kw
Battery: 25kwh
Panoramic sunroof
So it looks like the difference between the 2 vehicles is just this portion of the Signature Series:
  • Limited to 100 cars
  • Dedicated series number engraved on a special Limited Edition plate that is on the frame of the car.
  • Number is also engraved on the lower part of the rear window.
  • Limited Edition owners are entitled to the Premium Service Package
  • Exceptional BSM sound system.
  • Beautifully engineered in-door umbrella
So basically you get the in-door umbrella, a sound system, and a bunch of prestige.
Makes me wonder if the sound system of the normal version is just So-So, Average, Less Than Stellar, heaven forbid non-existent, or some other disappointing status.

Right now though, I'd still be interested in getting one. Given all that excess cash I have sloshing around and all.
