Sondors a maker of electric bikes just released an announcement of it's new electric bike and is now open for orders.

Sondors Metacycle

How it's like the CT:
-unpainted metal finish option with minimalist design
-electric drive train
-appears to have good value for performance advertised

How it's not like CT:
-off-road capability questionable
-modular battery option
-has a little smoother lines and corners (higher poly-count resolution)

Why it might be a good option?
-more efficient for short in town hauls
-may work as a small get-around vehicle at large campsite or for quick trip into nearby town, (cheap enough to buy a couple!)
-it will look good next to the CT in your garage, driveway or CT truck bed.

Anybody bought other products from Sondors? What did you think?

CT, electric quad, electric motorbike, electric snowmobile and an enclosed hauling trailing that has 150-250+Kw of battery storage, can store 1, 2 or all three above toys, charge all incuding CT, room for solar panels and a bunkbed.

Lets go ALL-IN!

It has a very short range and may not pass regulation in several states ^-^

Very cute, tho.
Yes, with a 4kwh battery it's not going far, but only 200lbs would 'easily' roll up CT ramp. Why will it not pass regulations you say?

Wait... if “it's not going far” means it can only get up/down the CT ramp before running out of charge then I’ll pass. One thing I love about my CT is the 500+ mile range. I don’t need the same range on a bike but it would be nice to ride for a couple hours at least on a charge.

Well, it'll last a couple hours at 25 mph.

The narrow signals aren't legal in many states, for instance. There's also some stability issues that would have to be proven.

That in-wheel motor puts it into the bicycle category. IF its 200lbs. puts it into the street bike category. I don’t see a market for such a contraption.

Some may want it for a predictable daily commute where the climate is favorable. But to carry around with CT, it would not make much sense to me. Things that I would take with me before this; a portable standup electric scooter, an electric scooter with comfortable seat for two and good amount of storage, light electric Bicycle or a light off road motorcycle. The things I could carry with Vault closed would have priority. If I want to move fast on the road, I just drive CT. It looks cool though if sitting on dental floss is your thing.

do you need a motocycle license for this thing or is it like riding a bicycle?

Top speed of 80mph, so absolutely not a bicycle. Looks pretty cool and its probably the cheapest real EMB(electric motor bike) I guess BEM(battery electric motorcycle)would work too. I would be tempted to get it, perfect for going to school/work, I wonder is it has a quick charger. But you can get some sweet used petrol bikes for $6k
