Thong swimsuits & undergarments were named such because they look like the foot ware. Only instead of a strap going between 2 toes it goes between 2 cheeks.

People in the US still use the term thongs to refer to the foot ware though. Maybe it’s gone out of fashion a bit since juvenile humor often kicks in when you say it.

I haven't heard the term "thongs" for footwear in ages. Been calling them flip-flops for the longest time. I wear them most of time.

Few years back I got Plantar fasciitis from wearing crappy flip-flops with no arch support. Quit wearing them for a couple years then bought some with arch support. Been a happy camper ever since!

Don´t worry about these silly boys from the environmental group, they can not stop Giga Berlin! They also try to complain against the new LNG-Terminals, which are necessary to stop gas transfer from Russia…

Not many Germans around here on this forum. ;-)

It's funny how every country seems to have their own groups who are pro/contra Tesla and EM. I remember when we visited our relatives in Ruhrgebiet a few months back; they had some funny ideas about Tesla and EM, in particular that he was just another Ami out to make some money and slave work some German skills... I obviously took it on myself to correct that.

I suppose being in the middle of Europe's heart of manufacturing leads to some sensitive feelings towards innovation. Especially when they built things like this below 120years ago. Sadly bureaucracy just got out of hand and lost touch with progress it seems...still lots of progress, but it could of been more.

That doesn't seem to be much of an issue if any. Just a news outlet looking for a headline to make money.
