FSD safety and FUD

I have subscribed to this $99/month offer on 4/12/2024 for my MS. I have not received any push notification for an OTA software update for the latest FSD software. It appears that I am running FSD v11.4.9. What am I missing??

So congratulation, you are on the bleeding edge with the latest and greatest update.

BUT, that release was for non-FSD vehicles and is a different branch from where V12 is.

It's a known issue and they are looking at bringing you back to the V12 line. The current V12 line is 2024.3.15. See the problem?

The branch that you are in has features that are not in 2024.3.15, the new Auto-Park is one of them.

Make sense since the FSD version I am currently running is not up to the standards of the latest release. Hopefully this gets resolved as v 11.4.9 is sub par and not worthy of $99/month.

I've been using FSD v12.3.3 and now v12.3.4 and it's stunning. I didn't think they could reach this level of functionality so quickly after moving to an AI visual learning model. It's already better than many of the humans driving around here. Lowering the subscription price to $99 is going to increase adoption and IMO will save lives. Good job FSD team.

For for some reason, human expect perfection from autonomous machines -- like expecting that it should be able to anticipate every eventually wtih zero incident.

Waymo works in highly restricted areas. It requires humans to go out and drive the route daily. When Waymo or Cruise goes into a new area, it takes months to train the system that runs the cars.

They are much more like slot cars than anything.

They are definitely a horse of a different color. BTW, ever seen one of them driving 70 mph?

I understand how Waymo works but they are only really restricted by red tape from permits. I think highway driving is a much easier problem to solve than downtown SF during rush hour. I much prefer Waymo's approach to autonomous cars. Better to have a a very good system in place and start small, than FSD being just a mediocre system that can prob get you somewhere if you like high stress situations.
My FSD in SF is down right scary at times...my Waymo rides are not scary at all and that's why I was saying it's not confidence inspiring. In it's current form FSD is not worth it's price tag.

Does not currently. It would require all drivers everywhere to use it constantly, and properly.

Oh, so if it is just red tape, then how come they have to bring drivers into a city for months WITHOUT customers to bring a new city online?

They won't drive out of their range. They can't drive out of their range. And In most of their locations, they limit themselves to a very small sub-portion of the city. I don't think that they ever get over 45 mph.
