I heard a YouTuber say Model 3 only takes 4 hours (no idea where that number comes from). Point is, they are fast. I assume that is only counting general assembly start to finish. Obviously it takes way longer to get the parts ready.
Yes I agree, seems fishy. My guess - EV manufacturers are desperate to get high range estimates so they are turning to low resistance tires to boost range. At what cost? everything you mentioned...

Collective bargaining is a nice idea but when government gets involved to protect unions it all goes to crap. I sincerely hope Tesla doesn't join the UAW ever.
It’s just a prototype with tons of hype. In all likelihood the production version will be quite different, if it ever actually goes to production.
To be fair CT is in the same boat, except that Tesla has a great track record and factory under construction.
