Obviously it's something everyone in China considers a must-have in a pickup: A stainless steel Snow Beer kegger.

Settle down. It’s a charger

And I would have settled for a stainless steel cover for their current charger!

MUST. HAVE.

(but why in China???)

The richest 20% of the Chinese market is bigger than the US market, population wise.

China is a huge automotive market, and getting bigger.

Get used to seeing new-product reveals split between the USA, China, and the EU -- because they're all big profitable car markets. In a couple of decades, Brazil and India might add themselves to the list. Welcome to a multi-polar world!

I have lived the downside of America's gun culture, and I want nothing to do with gun stuff.

If Tesla's brand got mixed up with gun stuff, that destroys the brand for me.
Me too.

But a gun safe is first *a safe* and the bad part of the gun culture doesn't like them.

When I first read the title, I thought that it's got to be the trailer unit it's always pictured hauling. A lockable safe storage unit for camping or workmen would be a nice extra option.

So inside the “vault” is a …. standard charger?

What Incant tell is, is this thing actually constructed/intended to let the owner literally lock up and secure their charger?

If so, then that’s maybe an interesting idea for and insight into a market like China

Their “home” chargers are going to be almost entirely mounted in the parking garages of massive high-rise apartment buildings.

And I would believe a scenario where maybe fellow garage users don’t have the same sense of ‘personal space’ - opportunistically using other’s chargers.

So if this “vault” actually provides some security around the charger, it may be marketable for lots of urban areas.

if instead this is just a box with an easy to break lock, then *shrug*

Oh, come now, more than a few forum members would love a Cyber themed cabinet.

I’m sure. Just not super exciting. In the US it would have just appeared in the online store.

Lesson here is don’t get excited about stuff you don’t understand.

Other lesson I think is that Cybertruck is apparently pretty popular in China if they are excited about this.

how do you know they *are* excited, versus Tesla attempting to excite them?

your comment is baseless
