Until I have all my Cybertrucks, Robotaxis, smaller Wolverine version of truck for Europe/World, FSD, Boring tunnels in every city, and dozens of Starships regularly making round-trips to Mars each year, I would much prefer Elon stayed focused on those things.

As a Tesla stockholder I bought the stock with expectation it was a primary focus for Elon.

If Elon has slack time in between he should be resting up NOT stressing out over something that should be a low priority and did not need fixing right now.

As a software engineer when I get burned out on a big project I fix burnout by working on something unrelated. Rest is fine for some, but it isn't relaxing for everyone. Some of us find relaxation in different challenges and overcoming those challenges .

What I saw was him saying he’s working 120 hours per week. That’s not the same as “too much on my plate”.

For over 12 years I worked worked a 40-50 hour full-time job (physical & mental demanding where mistakes would have lost big $$$$) for a large international corporation AND 40-60 hours (physical & mental demanding) full-time starting my own business.
I know what it is like.

No way need another challenge. What's needed is some sleep (vs almost no sleep) and quiet.

There is a difference between burnout on A project and completely overworking human body (mentally & physically) for long periods. Almost nobody working 80 hours gets enough sleep.

People can just all of a sudden just drop dead.

• FSD Wide Release

He just transitioned operations at Starbase to Shotwell, and Starship did a 14 engine static fire test today. Solid chance we’ll see Starship in orbit this year. Raptor production was for a long time his biggest time drain.

FSD beta version 11 is being tested internally right now and is very likely to be the wide release candidate.

Cybertruck hasn’t been keeping Musk up at night for a long time here.

Every time Elon has gotten into the hurry up and wait cycle of ramping a new product, he gets fixated on Twitter.

Oh, should have mentioned. At the time I worked those hours I was in perfect health (never smoked nor did drugs or drank alcohol) and I was 20 years younger than Elon is today.

To just put this in perspective. He probably spent less then $5B on Giga Texas so far, which will have about 10,000 employees. He spent $44B on Twitter which had 7,500 employees now seems like they have about half that. This may go down in history as the dumbest purchase ever. It will definitely affect the Cybertruck. He is very controlling over his projects and he is losing so much money with Twitter that it will take a ton of his capacity to try to save it rather than focusing on the CT, which is likely going to be their best selling vehicle ever. His logic seem to be faltering here.

What would he be working on with the Cybertruck?

Hand building prototypes? Helping pour the foundation for the Gigapress? Advising on installing the automated brakes for folding the exoskeleton? Writing the UI for the console?

Musk is on the weekly production calls. He knows what’s going on. If there is a logjam, he can set aside the Twitter stuff and clean it up. But it’s likely there won’t be any logjams because he hires competent managers who do the day-to-day stuff around these projects exceedingly well.

I spent many years in management. Did all those functions including firing employees.

When I had to fire an employee I considered it partially my failure.
