  1. Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

I hope you’re right. It would be a disaster for Tesla to abondon the V4 network that will be the backbone of all next gen cars, the Cybertruck and the Semi. All of which need the 800 volt architecture.
  2. Report: Tesla lays off entire Supercharger team! [Update: Elon Musk says supercharger growth will continue]

My biggest concern here. Is that the rollout of V4 chargers are critical to the future of the Cybertruck and any future updates and cars going to the new battery architecture and voltage systems. Charging speeds between V4 and V3 are not even comparable. It gives Tesla a huge advantage over others.
  3. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

I think someone mentioned this earlier. I imagine having a forward/backward motion built into the software to help you get out of snow, mud, etc. can be added and tweaked pretty easily. Maybe suggest it on X/Twitter. Elon responds well to good suggestions like this.
  4. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Another argument for going stalkless is… Changing the stall positions requires you to lift your hand off the wheel or at least move it significantly. With capacitive buttons on the wheel changing indicators will work the same way changing volume for the radio. Seems like an improvement in...
  5. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Look at it this way. They’re preparing cars for driverless abilities. They built in all the tech for it so that once the software is perfected it’ll be seamless. Additionally the blinker controls and others are on the steering wheel. Check pictures of the wheel for the latest model S. If we keep...
  6. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Having physical selector buttons or switches isn’t inherently better. People put cars into the wrong gear with todays tech. Some people are better with change than others. Selector switches, buttons, stalks, etc are just another thing to fail or break. Software can be changed at any time to...
  7. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

There’s a great article on it. They’ve even brought back push button selectors on many modern cars. The gear selector days are numbered and have been.
  8. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Nope no regulation for that. Cars used to have the first auto gear shifters be push buttons. Wasn’t dictated by regulation then. Still isn’t. Look it up. The current model S and X use no stalks only touch screen to shift gears. Just as reliable as a mechanical piece that serves no other purpose. J
  9. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

Big deal. Those features were needed when there was no alternative. Do you know how much engineering and cost goes into physical stalks and gear shifter. Stupid money wasted. Will the car go forward and reverse when asked. Yes. Done. All the moaning and groaning will be null in years when all...
  10. Model 3 Refresh Revealed!

I could care less about stalks. We grew up with them doesn’t mean they must stay. I had a phone with buttons. Now nobody does. It’s the way everyone is going. Less parts equals lower cost and less things to fail. Ferrari’s have been stalk-less for years. Their sales numbers didn’t implode. & J.
