hospital said following advice from Merseyside Fire and Rescue...

Merseyside Fire and Rescue has been contacted for comment.
I must point out that no actual fire officials were quoted in the article. We have no idea what they told the hospital, either. It might have been something like "your structure is not built to code, and lack of water access will make it difficult to extinguish an EV fire". ?‍♂

There's nothing on the Merseyside Fire and Rescue website about avoiding EVs. In fact, the only mention of EVs at all is them proudly including EVSE charging stations at their new training academy lol.

So while I'm sure they have the relevant training, I'm skeptical they ever told the hospital that EVs are not safe.

And if they didn't have the relevant training, I would doubt their instructions.

Which seems obvious, right?

There are certainly ample examples of fire departments responding poorly to EV fires, as lithium-powered vehicles weren't a thing 10 years ago, but I'd like to think most have caught up with the technology by now. And just because they're well versed in extinguishing such a fire, does not necessarily mean they study the statistics or risk management.

I suppose if the Fire Chief was lecturing me on a subject, I would grant the benefit of doubt to an an apparent expert. I would question information that I felt was incorrect, however, despite my own lack of specific training.

Perhaps I did...the political motivation was probably the first. I won't comment on the rest. I found more issues with the things you said TBH.
...So you found nothing?

Weird. I thought you said you found something wrong with the video.
